SSO AMBER HAMEL

Officer Amber Hamel went to Columbia high school. Officer Hamel started working with children when I was 15. She began studying child development and healthy communications with our youth. She taught kindergarten for 5 years then sought a new career path. Officer Hamel chose to become a corrections officer. She studied law enforcement and began a career with the same department as juvenile court bailiff and juvenile transportation officer. She is happily a school resource officer assigned to the Purvis Lower Elementary.

SGT JOHN CHAMBLISS

SGT Chambliss or "Officer John" graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a BS in Criminology and was commissioned as an Officer in the US Army.  He has earned Master’s degrees in Business Administration and Strategic Studies.  He has 30 years in law enforcement, serving first in the Active Army as an Airborne Military Police Officer, retiring after 27 years  Hobbies include farming, motorcycle riding and coin collecting.

SRO LOURIE N. FORMBY III

Officer Formby is a native of Picayune, MS. He graduated from Picayune Memorial High School in 1982, received his bachelor's degree in General Studies from Mississippi State University in 1987. He received a Master's in Safety-Occupational Health from the University of Texas-Arlington in 2015. He attended the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary working towards a Master's in Divinity. He served in the U.S. Army as a helicopter pilot with three combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan earning him the Legion of Merit Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal (with three battle stars), Afghanistan Campaign Medal (with two battle stars) and the Joint Meritorious Service Medal.  He retired in 2020 with over 36 years of dedicated service. His law enforcement career includes five years as a Pearl River County Sheriff's Deputy (1989 to 1994) and his new career as an SRO in 2020. He is married to COL Julie H. Formby, DVM and has one son, Pierce. His hobbies include: restoring antique tractors and vehicles, gardening, deer hunting and camping.

SRO CHRIS DUNGAN

Officer Dungan graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a BS degree in Criminal Justice. He worked at Sumrall Police Department for 8 years and served as their Chief of Police for 6 years. He is currently assigned to Oak Grove Middle School. Officer Dungan resides in Sumrall with his wife and two children. His hobbies include spending time with family & friends and traveling to watch his 8-year-old daughter compete on an all-star cheerleading team.

SRO LEQUISA EVANS

SGT JAMES GONZALES

SGT Gonzales has been in law enforcement for 22 years. He recently retired from Texas Highway Patrol. He has a long list of certifications from Firearm Instructor to Special Response Team member. SGT James is assigned to Lumberton Attendance Center. His hobbies consist of backpacking, camping, jogging and lifting weights. An interesting fact about SGT James is that he likes to cook in the old cowboy tradition with cast iron skillets on an outdoor fire. Ask him about his cowboy coffee.

SRO BRUCE SMITH

Officer Smith was born in New Orleans, LA and attended Southern University of Baton Rouge. He has 13 years of Law Enforcement experience and started his career with the Orleans Parish Criminal Sheriff Office. Officer Smith worked as a Field Agent for Drug Court, a Weight Enforcement Officer for M.D.O.T. and Patrol Officer for Forrest General Hospital. Officer Smith is assigned to Oak Grove Upper and Lower Elementary. His hobbies include music and sports.

SGT TERRENCE TAYLOR 

SGT Taylor attended the University of Southern Mississippi and got his BA is Criminal Justice. He served in the US Army for 12 years as a Military Policeman. He started his local law enforcement career at Jackson Police Department and worked at Hattiesburg PD as a patrolman. He is currently assigned to Oak Grove High School and his hobbies include working out, hiking and traveling the world with his family and as a missionary.

SRO ROBERT TECK
Officer Teck or better known as Officer Bob. Officer Bob graduated from Purvis High School. He has 21 years of law enforcement experience. He worked at Hattiesburg Police Department, where he served in a number of roles. Some include patrolman, NET Team Member and Motorcycle Traffic Officer. Officer Bob is the District Residency Officer. His hobbies consist of hunting, fishing and traveling.

SRO CACEY PIGOTT
Officer Cacey Pigott has 6 years of Law Enforcement experience. She started her career as a Correctional Officer and became a patrol officer with Purvis Police Department. Officer Pigott worked patrol for five years, a Criminal Detective for two years, and a SRO for one year. Officer Pigott trained in crisis intervention, is part of the Human Trafficking Task Force Team in the Pine Belt area. Officer Pigott is currently assigned to Sumrall High School. Her hobbies include spending time with her family and animals.

SRO TONIERIA ROBINSON

Officer Robinson known to the kids as Officer Toni graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies. She has 6 1/2 years of Law Enforcement experience. She worked for the Purvis Police Department for many years where she served in various roles. Those roles include patrolman, general investigator, and state-certified human trafficking investigator. She is currently assigned to OG Longleaf Elementary School. Her hobbies are traveling, singing, reading, crafting, and doing yard work.

SRO JOSHUA BEASLEY

Assigned to Oak Grove Middle School. Graduated from Oak Grove High School in 2003. Began law enforcement almost 11 years ago as a corrections officer with Forrest County Sheriff Department, then went to the Wiggins Police Department where he was a corporal on patrol, he worked for Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College as a patrol officer, investigator, and evidence technician. He is an Alerrt instructor for Crase, and Erase. Some of the training he has received has been the FBI Leeda Command College, Interview and Interrogation with Steve Rhodes, Alerrt Crase, Alerrt Erase, Global Police Solutions detective class, International Association of Property and Evidence evidence technician class and a ton more.  His free time is spent with his son. He enjoys hunting, fishing, kayaking, dirt bikes, and motorcycles.
